What happens in a session?
In comparison to tradition psychotherapy techniques, the cutting edge treatments we use here are extraordinarily quick. The techniques have been backed by scientific studies and shown to be ultra effective within many problematic conditions. For some, results can be instantaneous, appearing as quickly as the first session. In our experience however, the majority of people achieve lasting and positive changes within 2-6 (1hr) sessions.
Brief or Solution Focused Therapy, Brief therapy or “Solution-focused Brief Therapy”.
This treatment uses practical, modern and well researched strategies including some of the best that SFBT, CBT and NLP methods have to offer. The aim within SFBT is to help people make significant positive changes in their lives within a relatively short period of time. This style of therapy helps people achieve the things they want to achieve in life by awakening those abilities that can often appear to be beyond the person’s deliberate control or where the abilities were not even known.
What’s it good for?
It is particularly helpful with confidence and self esteem problems and is now recognised as one of the most successful interventions (if necessary in conjunction with medication) in the treatment of Depression and Anxiety (including panic attacks, agoraphobia, IBS etc).
According to NHS research, “Depression is the most common mental disorder in community settings and is a major cause of disability across the world. Among 16- to 65-year-olds in the UK, it is estimated that 17/1000 men and 25/1000 females have major depression”. [N.I.C.E. 2004]
Suggestion Therapy
This is a traditional treatment used to help with problems such as smoking, slimming, pre-test nerves, childbirth, nail-biting, pain etc. It makes use of the mind’s heightened awareness and susceptibility to beneficial suggestions in order to make changes.
Change doesn’t have to take long.
This type of therapy generally requires one or two sessions whereas our anti-smoking therapy takes just one double session.
All interventions have a profound affect on the way our problems, whether past, present and future, are both viewed and dealt with. A major re-evaluation takes place. They are also a route to greater self- knowledge and awareness, thus enabling us to become the person we were always meant to be.
